Islam Makhachev looks more than prepared to battle against ‘The Great’ and it’s almost scary. The fighter had to face some disappointment after Charles Oliveira pulled out of the fight days before the matchup. Now, the card has been changed, and his former opponent, Alexander Volkanovski,  his greatest foe, once again.

‘Volk’ and Makhachev butted heads back in February of 2023. The fight was a close call between the two and Makhachev ended up winning via decision. However, the two will once again have the chance to prove who’s the real winner. And this time, it looks like Makhachev wants no close calls against ‘The Great’.

In a recent video, Makhachev can be seen training hard. The clip was uploaded on Instagram by Makhachev’s coach Javier Mendez. It was an interesting moment to see the fighter go all in against a boxing bag lying on the ground. Clearly, he’s more than ready to finish Volkanovski with a knockout takedown.

The most stunning aspect of the video? Islam Makhachev actually manages to put a tear in the boxing bag with his elbow strikes. The sharp cuts and punches finally make the bag give into Makhachev’s vicious strikes. Mendez was quite obviously impressed and proud of his pupil but he couldn’t film the whole thing happening.

Clearly, the fight preparations are going pretty intense for Makhachev and the crew. Fans could not hold their excitement for the upcoming bout at UFC 294. Now that they have seen the video, many are lining up behind Makhachev to prove himself against Volkanovski once again. However, there are opposers too.
