Former talk show host Conan O’Brien is in Ireland at the moment. The former ‘Conan’ host is shooting his new series ‘Conan Without Borders’, where he goes to various foreign countries to understand and showcase the local culture there.

O’Brien, as his name (and face) suggest, is a descendant of Irish immigrants and is quite proud of his roots. This is not the first time he has visited the country, either. However, what is different this time is that he got an invite from Irish MMA superstar, Conor McGregor.

Conan O’Brien tweeted earlier today that he was in Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland and McGregor’s hometown. The ‘Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend’ podcast host revealed that he was in Ireland and claimed, with tongue firmly in cheek, that he was named ‘Ireland’s Next Top Model’, perhaps a humorous shot at the beauty standards (or lack thereof) in the country.

“I’m in Dublin, where I was just named “Ireland’s Next Top Model.” he tweeted.

Conor McGregor replied to O’Brien’s tweet, mocking him for claiming to be a model, comparing him to the Irish dish ‘coddle’, made from leftovers. The former two-division UFC champion offered to host him and his team, promising the best food and drinks in Ireland.

“A model for a coddle 😂 Hit me up Conan! I’v the best food and drink in all of Ireland! I will look after you and team! ☘️🇺🇸,” ‘Mystic Mac’ wrote.

The two men are acquainted with each other and had a great segment on O’Brien’s talk show back in 2016, and seemed to share a good rapport. In recent times, McGregor has also hosted other Hollywood stars like stand-up comic and comedy actor Kevin Hart, and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg when they visited Dublin. It’s refreshing to watch the fighter in a humorous banter rather than trash-talking his opponent before his big UFC comeback.

Conor McGregor wants to fight Chandler at 185 pounds

Conor McGregor announced on New Year’s Eve that he would be fighting rival TUF 31 coach Michael Chandler on June 29 in a middleweight bout at 185 pounds. This, of course, came as a surprise to many since Chandler fights in the 155-pound lightweight division. And this bout would be a whopping 30 pounds heavier than that. However, none of this has been confirmed by the UFC and is still in the realm of conjecture.

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, however, Chandler stated that fighting at 185 would not be a problem for him as he and ‘Mystic Mac’ weigh within a few pounds of each other naturally. He felt that the higher weight class may prove to be a disadvantage for the Dubliner as it might compromise his speed and agility, which he relies on for his elite striking.
