Caio Borralho is an exciting upcoming talent in the UFC middleweight division. Hailing from Brazil, Borralho is on an 11-fight win streak in his MMA career. The fighter has combined his judo and jiu-jitsu very well in order to stay undefeated. While Borralho is making waves inside the octagon, he is making sure that his voice is heard outside it too.

The rising middleweight recently called out Khabib Nurmagomedov on his Twitter. The saga originally started when Borralho beat Russian UFC middleweight Gadzhi Omargadzhiev. While Omargadzhiev and Nurmagomedov are not related to each other apart from being compatriots, Borralho looked to ignite a rivalry by poking fun at the latter.

It is a known fact that Nurmagomedov hails sambo over Jiu-Jitsu. Borralho, in his tweet to Nurmagomedov, hinted that fighters from Dagestan need to work on the latter. Borralho wrote, “IM SORRY @TeamKhabib! Dagestani guys need to train more jiu jitsu I can help u guys, just send me location”

While Borralho looked to prove a point with his tweet, mixed martial arts fans did not react to his tweet in a nice way. The Natural received a lot of criticism for this tweet.

Fans criticize Caio Borralho for poking fun at Khabib Nurmagomedov

Regardless of public opinion, it is hard to deny that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s achievements in mixed martial arts place him among the elite fighters of MMA. A young fighter like Caio Borralho coming in and poking fun at Nurmagomedov was not appreciated by the fans, who made their voice clear.

While Borralho managed to control his opponent on the ground, a fan did not seem entertained by it.

One fan attributed luck to Caio Borralho’s situation in the middleweight division. The fan hinted Borralho wouldn’t be able to hold his own against fighters from Dagestan.

Caio Borralho received criticism from one fan for the number of submissions he has compared to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

One fan criticized Borralho for not being a fighter as popular as Nurmagomedov. The fighter claimed Borralho was a ‘nobody.’

A fan referred to Borralho’s tweet to be pointless as there was no connection between Omargadzhiev and Nurmagomedov.

Whether fighters from Dagestan need to work on their Jiu Jitsu or not will be proved at UFC 280 as Islam Makhachev, who comes from a sambo background, will face Charles Oliveira for the 155-pound UFC title.
