I probably shouldn't say this and no disrespect to Jack he's a warrior… but I feel like I didn't even try this fight.. Like I was treating it like a low level sparring match.. very disappointing… let the pressure get to me… won't happen again..

The result of the bout was in Strickland’s favor via a split decision. He seemed to be the one in control throughout the bout. Hermansson didn’t shoot for as many takedowns as he usually does as well. During the final round of the bout, we saw Strickland unleashing some significant strikes, which made the fight a bit more entertaining.
According to Strickland himself, he said that he treated it like a low-level sparring match and was very disappointed with his performance. He then assured fans it won’t happen again and he ‘won’t let the pressure get to him.’
Sean Strickland disagrees with the split decision win
In his octagon interview post his bout at UFC Vegas 47, Strickland seemed extremely disappointed with his performance. Former UFC champion, Michael Bisping, asked him if he agreed with the split decision. Bisping pointed out that he didn’t agree with it himself.
Strickland said,” I mean I disagree. But, he had to land some leg kicks, takedown attempts. I mean I would like to think his face shows the result.”
