UFC 300 is right around the corner. However, the main event and the co-main are not yet decided. Speculations are being drawn left, right, and center. Amidst this uncertainty, Sean Strickland revealed the condition under which he may compete on the card. His comments come ahead of his title defense against Dricus Du Plessis Provided he wins, he would most likely be mandated to rematch Israel Adesanya, but not necessarily at UFC 300 though.

However, it bears a mention that their fight on the third-century card would be a spectacle, so why not? The middleweight acknowledges the same, but there is a price tag to it.

Sean Strickland, in recent times, has gained fame, notoriety, and prestige, among other things. He understands his value and wants to be compensated for it. Therefore, he would agree to rematch the former champion, so long as he is paid the right price.

Otherwise, he has no interest of his own to turn back around from UFC 297 and fight again in a short amount of time. Reflecting on the same, during the pre-fight press conference, he stated, “Yeah, f*ck man. As of all things, how much money are you paying me? As of now? No. But how much money are you paying me?”

UFC 300 is guaranteed to have multiple title fights and the middleweight title might just be one of those. If that is indeed the case, fns can expect Adesanya or another high-profile name like Khamzat Chimaev there. Both high-risk fights and fans can be sure Strickland will look to make the heftiest paycheck out of the situation if it does come to pass.

Prizefighting at its finest. Safe to say, apart from his love for the sport, he also competes for the love of money. However, his animosity for the former champion is as real as it gets, just as the slogan of the UFC. During the same press conference, he had some hostile words to advance.

The former champion did not appreciate when Strickland escalated the scuffle with Du Plessis at UFC 296. He stated, “I saw the brawl and I thought ‘That’s out of character’ but then again, he can dish it but can’t take it.” In the post-fight interview, the current champion was asked about his response to the criticism made by his rival.

In response, he asserted that he would not be any less bothered. He stated, “You think I give a f**k? If I walk down the street and somebody says, ‘Hey, there’s Sean Strickland, f**k him.’ I don’t care, enjoy.”
