Sean O’Malley had a busy night out at UFC 288. The 28-year-old was in the audience when UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling beat Henry Cejudo via a split decision. Following the win, Sterling called O’Malley into the cage for a face-off, thereby confirming the intention to defend his title against him next.

Furthermore, O’Malley also had to deal with a mischievous Merab Dvalishvili who was celebrating with the audience while wearing the former’s jacket. All things considered, O’Malley exited the arena after verbally confirming a title fight and stealing a bit of the spotlight.

Hours after the events at UFC 288, lightweight star Terrance McKinney posted a tweet featuring Sean O’Malley. The caption to the post was as funny as it was risky, especially considering the political landscapes of modern times. Now, O’Malley has neutralized the situation with a harmless joke of his own.

Sean O’Malley responds to Terrance McKinney

In a recent tweet, Terrance McKinney shared a picture of himself with Sean O’Malley and Kevin Holland. He captioned the picture “3 successful black ufc fighters.” While McKinney is obviously joking, race is a risky subject to joke about considering the political correctness prevailing on Twitter these days.

However, O’Malley had an amusing comeback of his own. In response to the tweet, he wrote, “I made it.” ‘The Suga Show’ went with the joke and added to it with his own response.

Responding to O’Malley, McKinney wrote, “yea brotha you’re one of us g.”

Responding to a fan, McKinney also said that they all needed to train together and tagged O’Malley’s coach Tim Welch. Welch responded, “100 p.”

McKinney has not been able to put together a neat win streak despite a stellar UFC debut. He lost his last fight via a brutal knockout against debutant Ismael Bonfim. Perhaps O’Malley and Welch could help the budding lightweight improve his game.

In the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White revealed a potential date and venue for Aljamain Sterling vs. Sean O’Malley. The UFC head honcho confirmed that this was the next title bout for the division.

Responding to the media, he said Boston could probably be the venue for the fight. If that is true, then the bantamweight showdown will happen at UFC 292 on August 19 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Do you think this is the fight to make? What are your reactions to the news? And what do you make of the joke between O’Malley and McKinney?
