Conor McGregor and Sean O’Malley do not see eye to eye and their rift has been going on for quite a while now. The bantamweight champ is in a rough spot with McGregor as his idol has become a rival and things do not look good. The recent social media scuffles, and McGregor’s dragging him into the drug accusation when Ryan Garcia was suspended, got everything going. Now the relationship is such that there is a need for an apology, but will McGregor give what O’Malley wants? Suga sat down for an interview with Helen Yee on her YouTube channel and spoke about what could mend the relationship.
Yee asked him about his thoughts about the ‘The Notorious’ and if there was anything McGregor could do to sort the situation. The champ claimed he did not know if he felt McGregor was trying to be relevant on social media by keeping this story up. However, if he wanted things right, then the former dual-weight champ would have to apologize. ‘Suga’ said, “I am over it. If Conor wants to message me and apologize, we can be boys. If not, I am not looking for more friends. I am not too worried about it.”

It does not seem likely that McGregor will apologize because let’s be real; McGregor does not care enough about who he offends. He called out Suga while taking a shot at Ryan Garcia for taking Ostarine for the Devin Haney fight. ‘The Notorious’ is always hitting a nerve with some fighters and has never apologized. O’Malley was not happy with the remark McGregor had made.

O’Malley was so angry that he left his idol’s side and was even supporting Michael Chandler for UFC 303. He stated his hatred for the champ and he even claimed to be sad over this new chapter.
Sean O’Malley expressed his sadness over Conor McGregor’s remarks
In a previous episode of the ‘TimboSugarShow’ podcast, he stated, “Yeah that’s crazy what Conor did… F**K Conor! F**k Conor man, “I saw a lot of people being like, ‘Damn, I bet Suga’s sad. Suga always talks nothing but great about Conor and he’s his f*cking idol…. I was more sad than mad. Now I cannot wait to see Michael Chandler just sleep him, I’m turning up. I’m changing up real quick, f*ck Conor.”

However, when all the scuffle was a tale of the future, O’Malley was even approached by McGregor for ‘Paradigm Sports’. This happened in 2021 when they ran into each other at a football game. This is a company that the Irishman owns partly and is also represented by them. O’Malley stated to ESPN MMA, “He [Conor McGregor] wanted me to sign to his agency. Like he was telling me, he was trying to tell me ‘Hey you can’t just pick your fights. You got to fight anybody and everybody if you want to be the best. You can’t pick your fights.’”
Suga did not sign with the agency because he felt that Paradigm and Attar would not be able to represent him properly. Can this also be one of the reasons that McGregor was salty at Suga? What are your thoughts about their relationship? Let us know in the comments below.
