Sean O’Malley had a quick rise as a fan favorite in the UFC. Much of this popularity can be accredited to his slew of highlight-reel knockouts. His walk-off KO against Eddie Wineland at UFC 250 generated a ton of buzz earlier this year. While O’Malley ranks the knockout among some of his best, he still wouldn’t consider it his best knockout ever.
In a recent post on Instagram, Sean O’Malley relived the sequence that led to the knockout of Eddie Wineland earlier this year in May. ‘The Suger Show’ darted in and out against the veteran Wineland. He mixed his strikes very efficiently. He changed his stance before attempting a spinning kick that Wineland ducked under.

With Wineland against the cage, O’Malley slightly feinted an uppercut before landing a clean right hand to the jaw of Wineland to send the former UFC contender to the mat. Despite the beauty of the exchange, O’Malley feels he has delivered a much better knockout in his career.
Sean O’Malley says his knockout of David Nuzzo is his best knockout ever
A Dana White’s Contender Series product, O’Malley had one fight under the banner of Legacy Fighting Alliance against David Nuzzo. O’Malley registered a knockout in the fight to continue his unbeaten run. However, the sequence that sealed the knockout was longer and showed his striking prowess in a much better way than the one against Wineland.

In the fight against Nuzzo, O’Malley displayed good lateral movement before landing a spinning kick to his opponent’s body. He ducked under a left hook and landed one of his own that dropped Nuzzo. He recovered back only to be pushed back against the fence by O’Malley. The latter landed a spinning hook kick that landed flush upon his opponent’s face, thus knocking his lights out.

It was highlights like these that created a name for ‘The Sugar Show’. His last fight against Marlon Vera didn’t go his way as he witnessed his undefeated streak come to an end. However, O’Malley is maintaining his outlook as a winner. He is looking to return to action in February next year.
