Jon Jones has remained unbeaten for a long time and the only loss in his career came to an unfortunate disqualification after a fight that he had technically won. This is the reason why even if many others don’t agree, Dana White considers him a GOAT In the UFC World. And he is finally coming back in action after a long hiatus due to his shoulder injury and will fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, in all probability for one last hurrah.
The main predicament for his opponent is the fact that everyone thinks that ‘Bones’ is going to win this fight. From fans to veterans, everyone is of the same notion that Jones is much more precarious than most heavyweights. Yet, recently Sean O’Malley and his team decided to challenge this notion.

It seems that Jones is clearly the more favored fighter, even though his opponent is no less formidable. This bout could very well turn out to be a double retirement title fight as Miocic and Jones have both hinted at retirement. And while speaking of odds, when UFC’s official betting partner DraftKings released the opening odds for the matchup, surprisingly Jones stood at a -410 favorite over Miocic.
Subsequently, Tim Welch and O’Malley in conversation about Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic on their YouTube channel begged to differ and gave Miocic his due credit. Welch shared, “I feel like Stipe is gonna make it more of a fight than people think I mean maybe I am just thinking back to old Prime Stipe maybe he is aged who knows? It’s hard to say. Stipe is a moth** due Stipe is a beast.”
On top of that, even Miocic seemed confident enough when their fight was initially announced for UFC 295. He had disclosed to CBS Sports, “Everyone thinks he’s [Jon Jones] going to beat my a**. I don’t like being told that. I like shutting people up. He’s beatable.” However, the former two-time heavyweight champion who is going up against UFC Hall of Famer on November 27th has a lot of catching up to do.”
Regardless, the fight was canceled because Jones was suffering from a pectoral tendon injury suffered during training. Now the two heavyweight titans are set to clash against each other once again and people are calling dibs on the winner.

Anthony Smith is convinced that Jon Jones will win
While speaking to Michael Bisping on the latter’s YouTube channel, Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith declared that Jon Jones had one advantage which was more dangerous than any of his opponents.
“He [Jones] obsesses over his opponents. It’s one of the biggest disadvantages in my opinion for Stipe for this fight to be stretched out longer. Because it’s given Jon more time to think about it, more time to analyze it, more time to dig into it more, time to continue to watch the film over and over and over. Jon is obsessive… He used to like to stalk his opponents’ Facebook and he would like to read through their everyday life. Like he almost wants to know who they are,” said Smith.

Surprisingly there is evidence from ‘Bones’ himself where he has confirmed that he is obsessed when he comes to victory. Jones had once told his fans on X that he was not talented but he was obsessed. This obsession is not just limited to scrutinizing his opponents and their fighting styles but it is also related to knowing how they are as a person and what makes them irate, thus giving him a psychological advantage while inside the octagon.
