While speaking to O’Malley, the host reminded him of how he made it clear that he tried to hate McGregor but failed. He said, “Ya I tried I was like f..k Conor. But it is what it is he said. I think he realized what he said was just stupid and I don’t know why he tried to put me and Ryan Garcia in the same category. I think he kind of realized what he said was stupid and then just backed himself into a corner”

O’Malley also made it clear that he would like to follow the path of Conor McGregor. The latter is one of the biggest superstars in the business and a former two-division champion. Just like McGregor , O’Malley also carries the same swag and pretty much a similar fighting style. ‘Suga’ considers himself as the best boxer in the division and his records also show pretty much the same. However, the 29-year-old is now ready for a new challenge and wants to earn a second belt.

The current bantamweight champion recently appeared at the Bradley Martyn’s ‘Raw Talk’ podcast to share his future plans. While the 29-year-old has some opponents in his mind, he doesn’t mind facing Conor McGregor as well.

While speaking to the host he made it clear that he is focused on his next opponents. ‘Suga’ wants to move up to a new division in order to clinch that second belt. However, he has not declined the opportunity to take on Conor McGregor if the opportunity arrives. O’Malley said,  “I could go up to 145; I’d fight [Alexander Volkanovski], I’d fight Max [Holloway], I’d fight Ilia [Topuria], but I stay in my lane.”

Talking about McGregor, O’Malley did remind the host as to how big he is. However, he can definitely make a move to the lightweight division if he wants to face him. O’Malley revealed, “Conor’s one of the only guys I would fight that I’m like, ‘That motherf***er’s big, “I would just fight him at 155.” McGregor has always been an idol for O’Malley and facing him would be a dream come true for him.
