From being training partners to cut-throat rivals, Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland have come a long way. ‘Tarzan’ has been dissing the Chechen fighter and calling out his failed cryptocurrency on social media, ever since he secured a victory against Robert Whittaker. This win seemed to have put Strickland on the sidelines, with Chimaev aiming at the middleweight belt. However, the higher-ups had a different plan.
After Dana White announced the fight between ‘Tarzan’ and Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312, things began to fall apart for ‘Borz’ as he lost his chance to fight for the title next. In his apparent desperation, the Chechen Wolf took to X and lashed out at the former middleweight champion. But Strickland has been trash-talking about Chimaev for a long time.
On the 8th of December, ‘Tarzan’ tweeted, “I love how c–shot will try to talk shit to me.. Bro youre not a man, character level f-ing dog s–t.. Crypto scams, w-ed yourself out to kadyrov for cars, fled to the middle east when the pimp hand got to strong. Stay in your lane Swedish man…..” That was when a fan questioned Strickland if Chimaev could fight on American soil. But that was nothing but a chance for ‘Tarzan’ to diss a bit more. He replied, “No he cant…… And that says a lot.. we let everyone in America…. This guy has the moral character of dog s–t…“

No doubt, the undefeated middleweight contender wasn’t going to let Strickland go. He dragged in the rapper, Diddy Combs, in one of his tweets. Chimaev shared a picture of the rapper and wrote, “@sinistrikilad this is your father ?” In another tweet, the Chechen fighter shared an old picture of the Californian and captioned, “Who is this g.. ?”

Some of the fans believed that Chimaev’s frustration birthed from White snubbing him for the title shot. After he defeated Robert Whittaker and maintained his undefeated spree, he expected to be the one next in line for the title shot. One fan reflected on this and wrote, “Crypto boy is so salty he isn’t getting the shot.” Needless to say, it was a jibe at Chimaev’s failed crypto coin. Meanwhile, another fan claimed, “It’s because he found out Strickland was getting the title shot ahead of him.”
Nevertheless, bringing in ‘Diddy’ was the best thing Chimaev did, as per many fans. One comment read, “Bro the Diddy tweet is insane.” Another fan wrote, “Nah that diddy one is outta hands lol.” The tweet proved Chimaev was one of the funniest comedians in the Octagon. From giving out weird looks to his opponents to making hilarious jibes, ‘Borz’ managed to entertain the fans pretty often. One fan wrote, “I love Sean but the Diddy one made me die rolling too funny.”
On the other hand, the fighting community began wondering if Chimaev would get to fight Strickland in his next fight. One fan wrote, “It’s cuz khamzat is mostly likely going to fight Strickland.” But the fans knew pretty well that it was Strickland who threw the first punch on social media. A comment read, “Strickland literally always cooks em in their Twitter exchanges.” While people thought that ‘Borz’s comments came out of nowhere, one fan swooped in to defend the Chechen Wolf. The comment went like, “Not out of nowhere , Sean’s taken a bunchhh of digs on him over the crypto scam on twitter.”
