Looks like the Chechen Wolf Khamzat Chimaev‘s supposed ban from US soil is being lifted all thanks to Dana White! The now-Emirati star was rumored to be banned from America due to his association with Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov. But he recently received his new UAE citizenship and passport.

On top of that the UFC CEO dismissed all news of his USA ban with one phrase during the UFC Fight Night 250 presser. “Don’t listen to that bulls** He’ll get to the United States. I’m very confident that we can get him into the country,” said White as a reporter enquired about the supposed ban and new UAE citizenship for ‘Borz’.

Now the thing is, Nassiroudine Imavov just handed a KO loss to Israel Adesnaya and this is only the latter’s second KO defeat in his entire UFC career. Following this huge success, Imavov called for a title shot against the winner of Du Plessis vs Sean Strickland at UFC 312. But the plot thickens because now White has declared that  Khamzat Chimaev can fight in the USA. So, he might fight the winner of Strickland vs DDP.

In fact, the UFC head honcho had previously declared his wish for ‘Borz’ to fight in the USA as well. White was very impressed with Chimaev after the latter’s win over Robert Whittaker in a first-round submission at UFC 308. “This guy’s never looked better, especially against the competition that he had. I’m looking forward to him getting a title fight in ’25. We’ll see how this plays out here, but I want him to fight in the United States.” he said in The Jim Rome Show.

The last time ‘Borz’ competed inside the US was against Kevin Holland at UFC 279. Seems like the head honcho is ready to take him to the USA again no matter what and guess what? DDP seems to be ready to face ‘Borz’

Dricus Du Plessis eying a matchup with Chimaev after UFC 312

UFC middleweight champ Dricus Du Plessis is set to run back to his incredible fight with Sean Strickland next month. Their UFC 312 rematch, of course, has been a long time coming but most fans seem to be keen on another matchup.  ‘Borz’ already defeated Robert Whittaker with a devastating KO but this made ‘Stillknocks’ even more eager to fight Chimaev.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Khamzat Chimaev's US return shake up the UFC rankings and title shot opportunities?

Have an interesting take?

“Absolutely. I mean I would love that fight. And you like said, it’s all about Strickland right now. But the Khamzat fight is a fight I want. And the man’s never been beaten. He’s beaten Robert Whittaker in spectacular fashion. Absolutely. I think Khamzat is an incredible fighter, I really do. I just know for a fact that, well, it’s different [with me],” Du Plessis disclosed to Jim Rome in an interview.

The fight with DDP will indeed be different because of his chaotic style and we really don’t know if it will be a hit or miss for the South African star. On top of that Du Plessis also pointed out the inconsistency of Chimaev when it comes to fights owing to his sickness. This matchup is truly tantalizing stylistically and entertainment-wise. Now that Dana White has given his seal of approval for Chimaev to fight on US soil, if Du Plessis wins at UFC 312,  can we expect a DDP vs ‘Borz’ fight? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
