Khamzat Chimaev‘s frustration with the UFC and Dana White continues. The welterweight star has been on the sidelines since his infamous outing at UFC 279 last year. Ever since his weight miss caused a major restructuring of the UFC 279 card, Chimaev has been in a puddle of uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Dana White has been insisting that his next fight would be at middleweight. However, that seems to have changed since Chimaev and former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman seem to have taken an interest in each other.

Fed up with inactivity, Chimaev let his frustrations boil over. The 29-year-old has been going back and forth with Usman and calling for a fight all the same time. Now, ‘The Wolf’ has shared a video on his YouTube channel addressing his next fight. He also took a shot at the Dana White-led UFC management for some of their match-making choices in the past couple of months.

Khamzat Chimaev takes a shot at Dana White
Dana White had high praise for Khamzat Chimaev since his debut. However, it seemed like his UFC 279 debacle put him out of favor with the UFC boss. A contender at both welterweight and middleweight, Chimaev had to sit idle and watch other stars compete for those titles multiple times. Addressing this in his video, Chimaev said, “I’m a big fan of the UFC but last year or so we see like only the same thing. And Izzy two times, Usman [vs.] Leon two times. Who wants to see that sh*t? Nobody.”
He continued, “I just don’t want to see that sh*t. I wanna see something fun to see, you know? Fans want to see like crazy show, crazy fights. People wanna see ‘Borz’, you know?”
Interestingly, Chimaev may have a point there regarding UFC matchmaking. The fights the Chechen mentioned were highly anticipated high-stakes bouts.

Nevertheless, Dana White admitted earlier this year that they were not doing their best work.
Dana White’s confession after UFC 287
During the post-fight press conference after UFC 287, Dana White addressed several questions from the media. One of those was about why the UFC was not doing a show in Mexico despite having three Mexican champions at the moment. White said, “You’re not wrong. I mean, for the first time ever, we got three champions. Why did we not do a Cino de Mayo fight? Why did we not do this? We’re f***ing it up. That’s why. We’re f***ing it up.”

He continued, “We’re trying to fix it. We’re making a lot of mistakes right now and I know we are and we’ll get our sh*t together. I promise you that.”
What are your thoughts on Chimaev’s comments? What do you make of White’s admission? Do you think there were better fights the UFC could have made in the past few months?
