The fight was originally going to take place at the upcoming UFC 275, in Singapore. However, the fight was postponed after Whittaker picked up some injuries. Now, the fight has been re-booked at UFC Fight Night Paris, which is set to go down this September.

The UFC Fight Night Paris card is slowly getting stacked and more exciting for fight fans. Another fight that is booked for the card as of now is Ciryl Gane vs. Tai Tuivasa.
This event will be the first time the UFC is making a show up in France, and we can safely assume that it won’t be the last as well. Due to legal issues with MMA, France did not host the promotion. However, after a long political battle, MMA was legalized in France in 2020, which has opened new gates for the UFC.

In an interview, the fighter claimed that he didn’t enjoy the aspects of the sport and was very close to ‘giving up the game.’ He said, “I left the game. I don’t know if I would ever come back to the game. Because at that time. I wasn’t enjoying anything, I didn’t enjoy the lead-up to the fight. I didn’t enjoy the media, I wasn’t enjoying myself day to day.”
In the process of taking a step back, the fighter realized that fighting is what he wants to do. This awakened a new fighting spirit within him and increased his ‘hunger’ to compete and be better.
