Undefeated middleweight Khamzat Chimaev was all set to headline the upcoming Saudi Arabia fight card. ‘Borz’ was scheduled to take on former champion Robert Whittaker in an electrifying clash. However, the fight has now been canceled because of an illness to Chimaev. UFC CEO Dana White was the first to get the news out, and the fans are still in shock.

Whittaker will now face Ikram Aliskerov as a last-minute replacement for ‘Borz.’ Former middleweight champion Michael Bisping analyzed the upcoming clash on his YouTube channel. While most fans are upset about the new clash, Bisping feels exactly the opposite.

The name of Ikram Aliskerov is one of the growing names in MMA. While he is nowhere close to Chimaev in terms of his stardom and skill, former champion Bisping feels he might turn out to be a surprise for ‘The Reaper’.

Bisping, on his YouTube channel, gave out the full details of the fighter’s career. He said, “A Dagestani with only one loss on his record. A professional record of 15 and one. Six Knockouts, five submissions. The man is a Dagestani. You know what that means? The man can wrestle.”

Aliskerov was all set to headline the co-main event on the UFC Vegas 93 card on June 15. However, he will now face one of the best fighters in the division.

One of the biggest disadvantages for Aliskerov is that he has not prepared for a five-round fight. But, Bisping feels that wouldn’t be a problem because he looks in sublime shape. Whittaker is fresh off an impressive victory from his previous fight, but he might have his work cut out against Aliskerov. That’s what Bisping feels.

‘The Count’ said, “Khamzat Chimaev is the guy that’s certainly building to be one of the biggest International Superstar that the Sports ever seen. Ikram Aliskerov is not that guy. But Ikram Aliskerov is the type of guy that is just as dangerous for Robert Whittaker. And guess what? He’s got all the risk but no reward.”

The news of Khamzat Chimaev pulling out at the last moment has raised many questions. However, his team has issued a statement highlighting the issue.

Khamzat Chimaev’s last-minute withdrawal has stirred up the MMA world. However, it now seems that the undefeated middleweight is facing serious problems. This is not the first time that ‘Borz’ has faced some health conditions. One of the reasons for his absence from the Octagon since UFC 294 has been his physical health.

A statement by Chimaev’s manager Majdi Shammas read, “The persistent illness that Khamzat has been battling for major parts of training camp could not be cured in time. He has been in and out of hospitals several times.”

Shammas also clarified that the news was only confined to the team and it was mutually decided to call off the fight. While the team shared no further details of the problem, they ended the update on a positive note and wrote, “Khamzat and team will now get to the bottom of the cause of the issues, and he will come back even stronger.”
