Robert Whittaker has fought the who’s who of the UFC middleweight division. Some of them he fought twice. He’s also held the undisputed title at 185 lbs division. So what else is there for him to do? Securing a big bag perhaps – the prize in prizefighting. And that is what we will be looking at today.
Whittaker is about to take on Paulo Costa at UFC 298 this weekend. This is a big fight for the middleweight division, and also a fresh one. With other contenders like Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira, and Sean Strickland circling the belt, Whittaker, luckily, has no shortage of big fights. Ahead of his return this weekend, let us take a look at how much Whittaker made against the former champion Adesanya and the current champ, Dricus Du Plessis.

Robert Whittaker, do the millions count?
The 33-year-old has an estimated net worth of about $4 million. Robert Whittaker’s average base salary stands at around $200,000 per fight. Of course, endorsements, bonuses, and PPV points add up to make him even richer in the long run once the fight is all over. Salaries also change depending on the stakes and his opponent.
The fighter has reportedly racked up over $3 million throughout his impressive UFC career. He earned $385,000 when he fought and won against Jared Cannonier with a base salary of about $210,000. The rest came from PPV points, a bonus, and other endorsements.
When he secured a win over Darren Till, he made $360,000 with a base salary of $200,000 and made the rest through similar channels as mentioned earlier. Clearly, he has been making a lot of money per fight leading up to his next matchup.

In fact, when he battled against ‘The Last Stylebender’ the first time, he made a ton of money, starting out with a base salary of $400,000 which is double his usual pay. Whittaker lost that fight and still took home a large sum of cash but clearly, that wasn’t enough to allow him the win even the next time they fought.

How much did Whittaker make from his Du Plessis and Adesanya fights?
Robert Whittaker took home a total of $540,000 when he fought and lost against Israel Adesanya with a $100,000 performance bonus making his wallet heavier than it would be with just his salary. Meanwhile, when he fought and lost against Dricus Du Plessis, he earned a whopping $420,000 despite losing. In his rematch against Adesanya, he made a staggering $632,000 after a base salary of $600,000 and sponsorship of $32,000 by Venum.
