“I really think I haven’t shown all my best skills yet in the Octagon. Fighting is also different. To fight, you grow over the years, and I think now I’m hitting my prime,” said Nasrat Haqparast ahead of his clash against Esteban Ribovics at UFC Vegas 103. The Afghan-American fighter is riding a five-fight winning streak after defeating Ribovics by unanimous decision. Following his victory, Haqparast went on to challenge Renato Moicano for a future showdown. However, there’s a twist to this callout, and it might even involve a robbery.

Following his victory against Esteban Ribovics, Haqparast called out former lightweight contender Renat Moicano for a fight, “Five fight winning streak, I’m coming for the top 15 Renato Moicano you are next brother.” As of now Haqparast is unranked and a victory against Moicano will for sure push him ahead of his UFC rankings but will the UFC give him a chance against the best of the division? Well, maybe not as the fans are not in a mood to entertain the fighter after the UFC Vegas 103 clash due to robbery allegations.

According to ‘Verdict MMA,’ Judge Chris Lee scored the card a bit weird, “Judge Chris Lee scored the fight for Esteban Ribovics but gave him round one and three. The Verdict Scorecard had round one as the clearest for Nasrat, but had Ribovics winning the fight.” It would not be wrong to state that both the fighters delivered war, however, it must be noted that Ribovics had more weapons to throw.

The Afghan fighter did start strong, landing crisp left and effective kicks in the opening rounds but Ribovics turned the tide in the second, increasing his output and pressuring a tiring Haqparast. In addition to that, ‘El Gringo’ pushed the pace in the final round as well. Despite Haqparast’s heavy shots and head kicks, Ribovics maintained his composure and kept the pace. However, despite Esteban’s best efforts, he had to concede defeat and the fans were not having it.

Fans were up in arms as Nasrat Haqparast gifted the victory against Esteban Ribovics at UFC Vegas 103

With a career record of 18 victories and only 5 defeats, Haqparast appears to be claiming the ladders of the lightweight division but will he be able to break the top 10 of the lightweight division? His callout to clash against the #10 ranked Renato Moicano is a bit far-fetched considering the fact that he has not fought any ranked opponent but despite that, the fans are excited to witness the fight, “That would be a great fight!”

However, it must be noted that the UFC Vegas 103 clash appears to be controversial considering the fact that apart from the UFC judges, many other independent websites believe that Esteban Ribovics should have won the match, “Yeah no, Esteban won 2 and 3, this is an actual robbery unlike the Gordon fight.” Furthermore, another social media user has come forward to ascertain that the Afghan fighter is not ready to face such a heat, “He’s not ready for that level.”

What’s your perspective on:

Did Nasrat Haqparast really deserve the win, or was Esteban Ribovics robbed at UFC Vegas 103?

Have an interesting take?

Moicano is not someone who should be underestimated, the fighter gave a brutal beating to Benoit Saint-Denis and made sure that he defeated Jalin Turner in such a manner that his will was broken. Looking at this a fan stated, “Moicano by literally whatever he wants.”

Furthermore, another fan is of the opinion that the fight should have been won by Esteban Ribovics, “Disgusting decision look at his face he knows he didn’t win”  Last but not least, a fan added that he knows that Ribovics won but that was not a robbery,“Guys I scored it for Ribovics but it wasn’t a robbery stop crying it was a close fight.”
