Conor McGregor is a showman and not with his way inside the cage. The Irishman became the first MMA star to break into the mainstream and become a pop culture icon owing to his flair, theatrics, and exceptional mic skills. Even Jon Jones has credited the Irishman for having “fast forwarded this whole game up at least ten years”.
And McGregor has found another good use for his skills and is set to make his acting debut this year. Even as his self-announced UFC 302 return has been slapped down by UFC CEO Dana White, the Irishman has shared an update on the film.

Dana White slaps down the return of the ‘Mac’ in June
On New Year’s Eve, Conor McGregor announced that he will return to the UFC after nearly three years on June 29 against rival TUF coach Michael Chandler. The bombastic Irishman has been out of the octagon for over two years, recovering from a horrific broken leg he suffered in his UFC 264 loss to Dustin Poirier. Nevertheless, this has been contradicted by Dana White at the UFC 297 press conference.

While he did not go into the reasons behind the hold-up, the UFC CEO made a cryptic statement that the UFC would announce a date for ‘Notorious’s return when the latter was “ready”. This means McGregor will not fight until at least July, with questions being raised around if he wants to return at all or if he wants to avoid facing Chandler, who has promised to break ‘Mac’s jaw, and spirit and retire him.
