In a recent interview on the ‘Hustle Show’ podcast, Khamzat Chimaev hinted at a potential game-changing development. When asked about whether he’d be able to fight again in the United States in light of Donald Trump’s election victory, ‘Borz’ stated, “Of course, I sent congratulations to Dana White, I think he’ll also be taking some position.”

The Chechen warrior last stepped inside an Octagon on US soil when he took on Kevin Holland at UFC 279 in 2022. Since then, his fights against Kamaru Usman and Robert Whittaker were held in Abu Dhabi. Why? According to multiple reports, Chimaev has been facing visa issues that have kept him away from coming to America.

Chimaev further stated, “Well, as I heard something there, he’s (White) supposed to take some position with somebody… a good position there in America.” He also shared that White responded to his message with heartfelt thanks and highlighted the fact that the UFC boss’s journey from, “….such a guy who even worked in a hotel, you know, receiving people. Such a person achieved such success in his life, motivates people.”

If Dana White’s rumored government role becomes a reality, it could influence ‘Borz’s path to future fights in the U.S. The connection between White and President-elect Trump might be the key to unlocking Chimaev’s American aspirations. After all, in a prior interview with the podcast, Chimaev had confessed, “As long as Donald Trump is not the president [of the United States] we can’t come back to the U.S”

While it’s yet to be confirmed if Khamzat Chimaev’s doors to the US will be opened soon, the UFC head honcho has made it clear that he wants to see ‘Borz’ step into the Octagon in 2025 in America!

Dana White wants Khamzat Chimaev to “fight for a title here in the U.S.

The year 2024 has been a rollercoaster for Khamzat Chimaev. After a year-long hiatus, ‘Borz’ stormed back into the Octagon at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, submitting former champion Robert Whittaker in the very first round. This victory solidified his position as one of the top contenders in the middleweight division. Yet, one question looms large, what’s next for Chimaev?  The win left fans and UFC executives buzzing and Dana White, the UFC CEO, wasn’t just impressed, he was ecstatic.

In a recent appearance on ‘The Jim Rome Show’, White praised Chimaev’s evolution stating, “His manager was telling me before the fight that mentally, physically and emotionally he’s the best he’s ever been. He said, ‘I’m telling you, wait until you see him on Saturday,’ and he was right. He was dead on”

But what’s next for the undefeated sensation? Chimaev’s performance has placed him squarely in the middleweight title conversation and the UFC boss further stated, “I’m looking forward to him getting a title fight in ’25. We’ll see how this plays out here, but I want him to fight in the United States. I want him to fight for a title here in the U.S.”
