Conor McGregor has always been vocal about his ideas of loyalty and remaining faithful to one’s roots. He has always taken pride in his Irish heritage and trains out of SBG Ireland, even to this day. The 34-year-old holds the same respect and attachment towards his former promotion, Cage Warriors. ‘The Notorious’ recently shared a message for the Cage Warriors team ahead of their upcoming event in the Irish capital city of Dublin.

McGregor is undeniably the biggest name in MMA today. One of the biggest names in the current combat sports scene, McGregor is the biggest PPV star in the UFC. The Irishman is also the first-ever simultaneous two-division champion in UFC history.

However, McGregor achieved the feat for the first time when he was signed to Cage Warriors. ‘Mystic Mac’ knocked out Ivan Buchinger on December 31, 2012, to achieve the feat for the first time in his career. What made the victory sweeter was that he scored the knockout in front of his home crowd at The Helix in Dublin, Ireland.

Therefore, the former UFC and Cage Warriors ‘champ champ’ had nothing but good words for his former employers as they are getting ready to make a return to Dublin after six years.

Conor McGregor sends a message to Cage Warriors team

In a recent tweet, Conor McGregor wrote, “Good luck to the @CageWarriors gang tomorrow night! A big one in the capital. Let’s go.” The Irishman kept it short but sweet as he wished his former employers luck for the weekend show.

Cage Warriors will host Cage Warriors 153 at the 3Arena in Dublin on April 29th. This will mark the promotion’s return to Dublin after a six-year hiatus.

A welterweight title unification bout between Rhys McKee and Jimmy Walhead will be the main event of the evening. The main card also features other key bouts from the featherweight and welterweight divisions. Tobias Harila vs Ryan Shelley, Pedro Souza vs Morgan Charriere, Oban Elliot vs James Sheehan, etc are some of the other exciting matchups of the evening.
