“Religion” and “Belief” Made Former UFC Champ Khabib Nurmagomedov Decline Offer to Train Elon Musk Against Mark Zuckerberg: “It’s Never About Money”

There was so much history that surrounded the much-awaited bout between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. Many were hoping that the bout would take place, but it didn’t materialize. Even recently, Elon Musk raised a health issue that was potentially the biggest obstacle to stopping the bout from happening. So much so that Meta’s CEO took his concerns to the social media site ‘Threads, where he expressed his readiness for the much-awaited bout but was concerned because of Musk’s deeds.

However, the scenario became intriguing after the name of UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov popped into the picture as his coach had a gripping revelation regarding his refusal to train the ‘X’ owner.

The real reason behind Khabib Nurmagomedov’s refusal to Elon Musk

A two-slide-post on Instagram was seemingly enough to reveal the entire scenario. It had an interview of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s former coach Javier Mendez. The video got posted by the SK MMA Instagram handle as it spilled the beans, highlighting the main reason of Nurmagomedov’s denial to train Elon Musk. Mendez broke the news, as he had an elongated statement to make.

He said, “Khabib was actually asked to train with Elon and Khabib had to decline because of his particular beliefs. And he is as loyal as loyal comes. Its never about money. It is about honor and loyalty and doing the right thing. It is for him, for his family and his country and his religion. You know it just never never stops with him how he changes who he is. Its amazing.” 

Mendez revealed the unknown crux of the story as he laid Nurmagomedov’s refusal straight. The undefeated bruiser surely was not willing to train Musk because of obvious reasons. According to Mendez, Khabib was considerate of his religion and his belief due to which he didn’t accept the proposal of Elon Musk.

Reports of Elon Musk’s supposed approach to Khabib Nurmagomedov also sparked a range of responses from fans in the past. The speculated bout surely created an immense amount of buzz among the fans. So much so that it got the attention of another UFC middleweight aspect.

Another UFC superstar in Zuckerberg’s corner?

UFC middleweight star Kelvin Gastelum recently shared his thoughts on the bout between the tech juggernauts. The scenario didn’t seem new because, like other UFC stars, Gastelum also came in support of Mark Zuckerberg. Discussing it on X he wrote, “Mark Z. for the Win here. I think he has the right mindset in his approach to the fight,”

Gastelum continued to condemn Elon Musk, using some really nasty comments for the founder of Tesla. He said, “Elon, with all due respect, has no idea on which side of the bed to p*ss on. Clueless on how it would all work,”.

Additionally, he claimed how important could be the involvement of UFC head honcho Dana White to enhance the stature of the event. However, Musk had other plans since he claimed that it won’t be Dana White but his and Zuckerberg’s foundation that will organize the event.
