Stacked with exciting matchups, UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs Holland promised fans an entertaining fight card. Among other main card fights, the middleweight fight involving Kyle Daukaus and Eryk Anders turned out a slugfest at UFC Orlando. While the fight offered both the fighters a chance to boost their claim of attaining a rank, Anders grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Both the middleweight fighters in the second fight of the main card engaged in a thrilling encounter where Anders scored a TKO victory in round 2.

How did the fans react to Anders’s hammer fists’ TKO?

The Fight Ready Team representative’s dominant display attracted praise from the fans. Besides, with this TKO win, the 35-year-old fighter again found himself in the win column.

Another user expressed their doubt about Anders’ post-fight callout. Thus, they wrote, “Eryk Anders offers to fill in for Bo Nickal and fight Jaime Pickett at next week’s #UFC282 event. I doubt this happens though”

What happened in the fight at UFC Orlando?

Daukaus started the fight with punches and legs and, therefore, put on the initial pressure. Anders followed the suit. And thus both the southpaw fighters from the moment go engaged in back-and-forth blows.

In round 1, the Martinez BJJ Team representative’s kicks made the desired effects, which he followed with left punches. However, ‘Ya Boi’ caught the 29-year-old fighter in his transition in the middle of round 1. Later on, Daukaus tried to employ grappling, but failed in his endeavor.

Towards the final seconds of round 1, Anders almost wrapped the fight with his thunderous punches, but the bell saved the 11-3 record holder. Notably, Anders’ powerful left punch proved troublesome for Daukaus. Therefore, in order to nullify his thunderous left punch, Daukaus again restored to grappling in round 2.

Significantly, the fans booed Daukaus’ turtle strategy to lay with his back on the mat, in a defensive position which happened a staggering 3 times. But in the end, these tactics couldn’t neglect Anders’ hammer fists, and Daukaus, who won only 1 of his last 4 fights, found himself face flat in round 2.
