When you’re one of the youngest fighters to make a name for yourself in the UFC, confidence is a must — and Raul Rosas Jr. has it in abundance. After signing with the promotion, the Mexican phenom declared, “I’m the new king in here.” So far, he’s been backing it up. Blazing through the bantamweight division, ‘El Nino Problema’ has racked up an impressive 11 wins on his record, with just one setback in his MMA career. But Rosas Jr. isn’t just another promising prospect—he’s a problem, and he knows it after proving his mettle at UFC Mexico.

To test his skill, Dana White once again pitted him against Vince Morales for a fight at UFC Mexico—and what a fight it was! He outclassed the American fighter by a mile, and in the end, it was his hand that was raised.  The judges scored the fight in his favor (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Well, the answer to this question is complex. Raul Rosas Jr is looking to become the youngest champion in the UFC history, and he has only a year to break Jon Jones’s record. To clinch the title, he would need to navigate his way past Sean O’Malley, Umar Nurmagomedov, and finally, Merab Dvalishvili. A fight between them is bound to happen in the future. Well, what does the Mexican fighter think about becoming a champion? Let us find out.

Raul Rosas Jr sets out a demand for  UFC CEO Dana White

Many fighters within the promotion have tried to beat Jon Jones’s record of being the youngest champ in UFC history, however, none has succeeded in breaking that decade-old record. Enter ‘El Nino Problema’, who has been raking win after win, climbing the ladder for the bantamweight belt. Unlike other contenders who had their time running away, Raul Rosas Jr has ample time on his hands to become the champion. When asked about how much time he has left to become the youngest champion, the Mexican fighter asserted that he has enough.

“Yeah, I have three years. I am trying to do it sooner, you know. I still believe that I can break it imagine like, keep concentrating on what’s ahead of me. And then getting the job done and if another opportunity presents itself like this, like, for example, like the Rob Font moment, like that would be a big jump up. And then it will get me closer to the belt. So eventually I feel like I will make it,” said Raul Rosas Jr in his conversation with Ariel Helwani.
