Raul Rosas Jr continued his impressive rise in the UFC with a submission win over Ricky Turcios at UFC Louisville and won over the crowd with his post-fight request to Dana White. The first round saw both fighters engaging in a series of intense grappling exchanges with Turcios even managing to secure a rear-naked choke at one point. However, Rosas Jr. escaped quickly, and in the ensuing scramble, threatened with a submission attempt of his own. In the second round, Rosas Jr. managed to get Turcios on the ground again before taking his back and locking in a rear-naked choke that ‘Pretty Ricky’ submitted to.

In his post-fight interview, Rosas Jr. dedicated his victory to his recently deceased coach and made a plea to UFC CEO Dana White stating, “And Dana, a 100Gs, its time to go big, I’m 19 years old now, I wanna buy my mother a house and it would be such a blessing, to be able to do it right now at 19 years old, like I promised her when I started this career at 4 years old. So Dana, 100Gs baby…”

While the crowd was cheering for ‘El Nino Problema’, Turcios found himself being blasted online by the fans for his antics at the start of the round. Here’s a look at what the fans had to say:

The vicious manner of the finish was also proclaimed by some as a “fitting” reward for Turcios’s behavior.

The verbal taunting by Turcios was also highlighted by a fan as the moment it all “went wrong” for ‘Pretty Ricky’ as he might have unwittingly brought upon some bad ‘karma’ on him with his actions

 

Other fans pointed out that despite his antics, Turcios was actually putting up a good fight and had Rosas Jr. in trouble before he got submitted. According to them, it illustrates why fighters need to stay humble inside the Octagon, otherwise their cockiness may come back to haunt them when they least expect it.

Some took humorous jabs at the situation by pointing out Rosas Jr.’s age. They claimed that Turcios was “mad” at someone who couldn’t buy himself a “beer legally”, as they highlighted the absurdity of the entire exchange
