That look Khabib is giving the cameraman here is enough to make anyone take three steps back instinctively. The other guy in the photo is Khabib’s cousin Magomed. He is a closer relative for Khabib than Umar, Usman, Abubakar and Shamil, who are Khabib’s second cousins.” 

Well, it will be interesting to see how ‘The Eagle’ responds this time around as he has retired from fighting. McGregor’s outburst appears to be fueled, at least in part, by Khabib Nurmagomedov’s recent criticism of the Irish MMA scene. He favorably compared Dagestan’s fighters to their Irish counterparts ahead of Usman Nurmagomedov’s Bellator lightweight title fight against Paul Hughes.

However, beneath the surface, McGregor’s true intent seems clear—he is attempting to provoke the retired Dagestani into a rematch of their infamous UFC 229 showdown, reigniting one of the most heated rivalries in MMA history.  The Irishman who is known for his endless rants on social media, this time crossed the line, with a tweet that’s more than just trash talk.

It wasn’t just the contents of his post that sparked outrage—it was the racial slurs McGregor casually threw in, adding yet another controversy to his long list of public missteps. Unsurprisingly, this didn’t sit well with former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, who didn’t hesitate to call out ‘The Notorious’ for his behavior.

In the past McGregor has relentlessly targeted Khabib’s family, religion, and homeland, fueling intense animosity between the two. The tension reached a boiling point inside the Octagon, where Nurmagomedov imposed his dominance, forcing McGregor to tap in the fourth round.

As emotions ran high, Khabib Nurmagomedov made his feelings clear, spitting on McGregor immediately after securing the victory. But this time things are a bit different and many have criticized the former dual-champion for his antiques. When questioned about McGregor’s latest outburst on a public platform, Sterling didn’t hold back. In response to a tweet, he kept it blunt and to the point, saying, “No. Some real crazy work there.” 

What came next was a wave of racially charged remarks, including one asking, “Does Conor McGregor get the N-word pass?” However, the Irishman truly crossed the line with his vile comment, “Your wife is a towel, mate.” The tweet remained live for about 15 minutes before McGregor deleted it, but by then, the damage had already been done.
