Earlier this year, UFC star Jorge Masvidal was arrested in March on account of two charges in Miami, Florida. He had an alleged scuffle with fellow UFC fighter Colby Covington at a restaurant in Miami, and ‘Gamebred’ allegedly attacked him with a punch to the face. It caused Covington a fracture in the tooth and an abrasion on his left wrist.

Masvidal faced the charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief. However, the second-degree aggravated battery could be elevated to a first-degree offense in Florida. He could now face up to 30 years in jail time.

The Miami Beach Police Department had earlier called it an incident of felony battery. According to the reports, they have identified Jorge Masvidal as the only suspect in the incident. But it didn’t state anything regarding the filing of charges. Even Colby Covington‘s name wasn’t mentioned in the police report. There was video footage of Covington talking to the police, released by TMZ Sports. There were also reports of Masvidal destroying Covington’s $90,000 Rolex watch. Both fighters have maintained that they would fight again if they ever ran into each other in public.

‘Gamebred’ had his trial delayed for further investigation into his alleged scuffle with Colby Covington. The former interim champion’s medical record claimed that the incident ended up causing him brain damage. Now, new footage has emerged from Masvidal‘s arrest. In the clip, he could be seen being interrogated and then taken to the Turner Guilford Correctional Center. They later released him on bail after posting a $15000 bond.

If found guilty, ‘Gamebred’ will be in a tough spot. He could either pay a fine or spend up to 15 years in jail.
