Sean Strickland will now lock horns with Dricus Du Plessis for the middleweight title. It’s just a matter of a few hours now and people are placing their bets either with money or with high spirits. One of them is NFL player Maxx Crosby who has made his choice clear.

The fight is high stakes. Du Plessis, finally getting his well-deserved shot at the title, and Strickland is defending his hard-earned belt for the very first time at UFC 297. The odds keep changing with more and more money pouring in for both sides of the card. Here’s more.

Maxx Crosby wants Strickland to win

Sean Strickland came in as the favorite for many. His odds started at -160 but slowly, it started coming down as many started pouring their money on Du Plessis as well. Now, Strickland’s odds stand at about -105. However, for Crosby, the fighter has to win.

“4th Round TKO” he predicted in his latest X post about the fight. The NFL player has not disclosed whether or not he has money on ‘Tarzan’ but with betting being so popular, it’s most likely that he does. The five-round bout could go either way.

Crossby is also good friends with Strickland with their recent sparring video going pretty viral. The Las Vegas Raiders defensive sparred with the reigning champion right before the kick-off of the NFL season. The two have a lot of admiration for one another and it’s shown time and time again.

But will that be enough for Strickland to win? Du Plessis is not an opponent to be taken lightly. His odds are high too and neither of the fighters are being heavily looked down on in the public eye with Du Plessis odds standing at around -115.

The saga of the heated rivalry

Dricus Du Plessis tried to get all up in Sean Strickland’s face during the recent faceoff. In fact, Dana White himself had to hold Du Plessis back before the two got into another brawl. Strickland has already jumped on Du Plessis before at UFC 296 pummeling him with punches.

And the two have gone back and forth with the verbal abuse going as high as it can. Either way, their rivalry will find either a reigning champion or a new champion at the very end of it. The former champion, Israel Adesanya has predicted a submission win for Du Plessis while many others hope for Strickland to win with a knockout.
