Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson took to social media and joined in on the GOAT debate that’s trending. Following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s dominant win at UFC 254 against Justin Gaethje, the entire MMA community has been entrenched in the discussion. Moreover, Jon Jones has been extremely vocal in the debate and he’s staked his claim towards the top spot.

Jon Jones has been on record to say that the 15 world titles hanging on his mantle easily overshadow Khabib’s career accomplishment. ‘Bones’ Jones has received some backlash for his stance as fans believe he’s trying to swipe ‘The Eagle’s’ retirement shine. However, ‘Rampage’ Jackson has chimed in on the debate and it’s clear he’s siding with Jones.

The multi-organizational champion in Jackson who’s considered MMA royalty had fought Jones during the latter’s come-up. At the time, the bout came as Jon Jones’ toughest test as Jackson was a monster on the feet. However, Quinton was no match for ‘Bones’ who became the first man to submit ‘Rampage’ under the bright lights.

Jackson acknowledging the fact that the former light heavyweight champion beat him soundly is certainly a good look for Jones. There’s no doubt that both the aforementioned fighters have had a Hall of Fame career, and a compliment from one boosts the other. Not to mention, the other names present on Jones’ resume certainly adds legitimacy to his argument.

His resume stands the test of time, despite the fact that his opposition was aging as he came up.

Jon Jones has relinquished his light heavyweight strap and has decided to make his long-awaited move to the heavyweight division. His performance at heavyweight will go a long way in dictating the way fans look back at his career. Additionally, he’ll immediately have an opportunity to add a new world title to his collection and reclaim the pound-for-pound throne.
