Former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was a threat inside the Octagon during his fighting days. ‘The Eagle’ finished his career with an unbeaten record of 29-0. However, his battles were not only confined inside the Octagon. The former champion has had his share of rivalries outside the Octagon as well. Former light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is also one of the additions to the list. The 46-year-old, in a recent interview, shared how he was once blocked by the Dagestani fighter. But why exactly did he do that? According to the former light heavyweight champion, he pronounced his name wrong.
Rampage sat down for a chat with Matan Even on the latter’s podcast where he mentioned, “Khabib blocked me on Instagram years ago. I don’t see him doing any business with me. I have no idea maybe because of my personality cause I say some fu**ed up sh*t. He is very religious. I think I pronounced his name wrong because I am bad with pronouncing names. I think I called him Khabib N..ggarenof.”
Even the host agreed to the reasons given by ‘Rampage’. Both ‘Rampage’ and ‘The Eagle’ have never faced each other inside the Octagon. The former light heavyweight champion has never been a fan of the Dagestani fighter. According to the 46-year-old, Nurmagomedov could have fought a bit more before announcing his retirement. While the debate is still in discussion, not everything is going smoothly for Nurmagomedov. The Dagestani fighter lately has been in a lot of trouble in his personal life.

After announcing his retirement from the sport, the former champion has shifted his focus to business. However, it seems his second career option is not as illustrious as his previous one. He currently owes $3.3 million in debt to the Russian government, and some of his businesses are already closed. According to a Russian Media outfit known as ‘Mash’, the 35-year-old is in massive trouble.
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s bank accounts seized by the Russian Government
The Russian Media outfit pointed out that the Russian Government has seized all the bank accounts of ‘The Eagle’. Not only is his professional account sealed, but his personal account as well. The Federal Tax Service already started looking into the details of ‘The Eagle’ even before he retired from the sport. After the investigation was over, the FTS found certain irregularities in his business, which led to the freezing of accounts.
The investigation revolves around the $3.3 million (around 300 million rubles) tax evasion charges. However, his troubles just don’t end here. Nurmagomedov’s martial arts school in Makhachkala, Dagestan, was recently on the news for all the wrong reasons. Dagestan faced a massive terrorist attack a few days back and the Russian armed forces left no stone unturned in the investigation. The entire operation was carried out to make sure everything was in order at the martial arts school.
