“Put Up or Shut Up” – UFC World Reacts to Australian Sports Commission’s Major Statement on Islam Makhachev IV Controversy

UFC star Islam Makhachev held out the skilled challenger, Alexander Volkanovski, at UFC 284 to defend his lightweight crown. While the lightweight kingpin exhibited splendid striking skills, his title defense engulfed the MMA community as they hotly debated the outcome. The negative limelight got amplified as Dan Hooker made serious allegations against the Dagestani fighter. Since then, the champion became the subject of public scrutiny and, as a result, attracted backlash from some fans. Notably, the recent back-and-forth exchange between both fighters’ camps also seared up the atmosphere. In addition, the Russian fighter’s prolific performance also flew under the radar as the indictments took the central stage.

However, the recent official statement by the Combat Sports Commission of WA may put these controversies to rest. The sports commission that oversaw the event in Perth on February 11, in an official statement, confirmed that it has no conclusive evidence that any athlete breached the WADA or its policies.

The commission confirms no complaint is filed against Islam Makhachev

Adding to the joy of the American Kickboxing Academy, the commission also clarified that it received no complaints against the 31-year-old.

Thus, the important portion of the release read “The Commission has no conclusive evidence that any athlete at the UFC 284 event held at RAC Arena has breached WADA or the Commission’s policies. The Commission has not received a complaint relating to any athlete at the UFC 284 event held at RAC Arena.”

Earlier, ‘The Hangman’ alleged Makhachev took the help of IV, a procedure banned by the USADA since 2015.
