At UFC 296, Paddy Pimblett will get a chance to prove his mettle in a fight against Tony Ferguson. ‘The Boogeyman’ recently took to X (Twitter) to share his excitement with his fans.

The lightweight division is arguably one of the more exciting divisions in the UFC. The top fighters in the division are all chasing the division title. Meanwhile, a few fighters have taken aim at the BMF championship, which belongs to Justin Gaethje at the moment. While the top players are all picking their fights and getting ready, Pimblett and Ferguson are gearing up for a generational clash and the fans could not be more excited.

Fans rooting for ‘El Cucuy’ despite his 6-fight losing streak

Tony Ferguson is a real fan favorite and there is no disputing that. The fighter has not been doing very well for himself within the UFC Octagon but his fans are still not ready to give up on him. That is why when he made the aforementioned Tweet, the fans immediately took to the comment section to show their undying love and support for him.

Some fans didn’t just support him but wanted him to teach Paddy Pimblett a lesson he wouldn’t forget. “You best teach him a lesson?!?“, said one fan as another said, “Please put this dude in his place champ“. Another fan joined voices and urged the former interim champ saying, “Please KO paddy“. 

“I’m rooting for you always, Champ! Show everybody who El Cucuy is! #CSO“, assured one fan, showing his unquestioned support for ‘The Boogeyman’ as another fan exclaimed saying, “Let’s goo Tony it’s time“. “sharpen those elbows champ“, advised one fan as another fan commented with a suggestion saying, “Cut him to bits with those elbows!“. However, one fan did show up in support of Pimblett, saying, “Pimblett is taking that win.“

This is a great opportunity for both Ferguson and Pimblett. For Pimblett, this would be an entry into the big leagues and a serious consideration for title shots. For Ferguson, a win over Pimblett would mean a spot back on the winning bench.
