After the successful and equally controversial Noche UFC, Dana White is all set to construct the most epic fight card for UFC 296. Live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the main event and co-main events have already been announced. Reigning welterweight champion, Leon Edwards will go up against Colby Covington for the title. For the co-main, Alexandre Pantoja will defend his title against Brandon Royval. The UFC CEO has now announced yet another exciting fight set to go down at UFC 296.

Dana White ensures that the audience remains on the seat’s edge at all times, even before the pay-per-view starts airing. This new exciting face-off will see a rising star go up against a fighter who has returned from an injury that could have ended his career if not his life. And fans have a lot of things to say about the upcoming fight.

Ian Garry is the undefeated Irish star who’ll get the chance to prove himself yet again. The 25-year-old will be going up against returning warrior, Vicente Luque. Luque had to take a step back from competing after suffering a grave injury at the hands of Geoff Neal. Here’s how fans on Reddit felt about this fight.

“I think people forgot how good Luque is because of the crazy brain hemorrhage from Geoff Neal catching him. He handily won the 2nd round of that fight and he was moving well in the 3rd before getting sparked. This is the first serious test for Garry I think, since Magny is very clearly on his way out and on the decline.”

“Luque hasn’t looked the same for a few fights now. He’s got 0 head movement and after that got heavily exposed he’s been a lot more hesitant. Sadly this will probably be Garry by tko.”

“Hopefully Vicente puts up more of a fight then that unathletic old man ian fought last time”

“I didn’t really care either way about garry, but seeing him shit talk, flip off Neil magny while magny literally had only one leg for like 14 minutes made me dislike him. Definitely pulling for vicente”

Some fans support Vicente but others felt sorry for him. They believed that the injury might keep him from outperforming the young star.

“Garry is a d*ckhead but he s winning this one. And you guys know what he s doing right? Being a deliberate d*ck so that you can “watch him lose””

“Cant wait till Ian beats him only for luque to be called some bum can by y’all in order to keep hating on Garry, just like magny and d rod”

“UFC know what they are doing here , Garry trains with luque , Luque looks gun shy and had brain damage last fight. Put the house on garry”

The fans certainly put out an interesting point. Garry and Luque used to be teammates at Kill Cliff FC, an MMA gym in Florida. So the two of them aren’t exactly new to one another- truly a clever scheme? It looks like the fanbase is as divided about this one as it gets. However, many just disliked the Irishman for his unpleasant attitude. Reminds you of another famous Irishman doesn’t it?

What are the fighters coming off of?

On the other hand, his opponent is coming off a win against Rafael Dos Anjos. That’s right, ‘The Silent Assassin’ made a grand comeback at UFC Vegas 78. The fighter had suffered from what was called a “Brain bleed” during his fight against Neal which forced him to take a step back. His life is still in him and so is the fight.
