Instead, ‘Alexander The Great’ moved up a weight class to take on the indomitable Islam Makhachev. It was his chance to become only the sixth consecutive double-champion in the UFC. And while he may have lost, he gained a lot of respect from UFC fans, and Joe Rogan in particular. And Rogan revealed exactly what he thought of their UFC 294 rematch after Charles Oliveira pulled out of the main-event title bout in the UAE on October 21.

‘Volk’, however, was hailed for his excellent performance and for holding his own against the Dagestani. Especially on the ground, where the lightweight champion excels. Many felt that Volkanovski won the fight, as he outstruck Makhachev by quite a margin. So, it is no wonder that Rogan is excited for the rematch.

The Texas resident took to Instagram and posted a poster for the new UFC 294 main event bout between Makhachev and Volkanovski, along with a clip of Dana White announcing the bout a few hours ago. “OH SH**” he captioned the post.
