Alex Pereira‘s UFC career is unprecedented. The first and only Glory double-champion, ‘Poatan’ has managed to become a two-division champion in only his seventh fight in the UFC. After his spectacular second-round knockout victory over former champion Jiri Prochazka, Pereira has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest fighters in the UFC.

After a roller-coaster year where he lost his rematch and middleweight title to nemesis Israel Adesanya in July and became light heavyweight champion last month, fans were sent into a frenzy of speculation after his recent cryptic tweet.

Alex Pereira tweeted “30+300=3” a few days ago. And with UFC 300 around the corner in April next year, this caused fans to speculate that ‘Poatan’ might feature at the anniversary mega card and even conjecture that he may face interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall at UFC 300 for a chance at concurrent double-champion status.

However, his tweet seems not to have been related to UFC 300, if Pereira is to be believed. In an interview with ‘TheMacLife’, ‘Poatan’ explained the meaning behind his esoteric tweet, which is much more bizarre that the Brazilian has latent psychic powers.

Pereira conveyed through his translator that he had seen the numbers in a dream and put them on Twitter in the hopes that fans might help make sense of them. Further, the 205-pound champion claimed he had seen numbers in a dream on two previous occasions and played a raffle with those numbers. Incredibly, he claimed he had won both times.

“So, actually he had a dream where the 30 + 300 = 3 and he got confused. So it rises it up there to see if people can help him to figure out the equation. The other day he had a dream about done numbers, he play a raffle in Brazil, won a motorcycle.” he said through his translator.

“The two months later he had another win, put some numbers more, win another motorcycle. So he was like ‘you know what? This is for the fans to help me figure out,'” he addedPereira also cleared up the speculations around a possible Aspinall fight.

Alex Pereira clarifies Aspinall rumors

On being asked if he would possibly be fighting Tom Aspinall at UFC 300, Pereira clarified that was not a possibility. The light heavyweight champion pointed out that he would have to put in significant work to add mass to his body and that it would be a longer-term process, which he was not interested in at the moment.

He said that it was not a thing that he could just jump in on and that he wanted to make things the “right way”. ‘Poatan’ said that he could definitely fight at heavyweight, maybe someday in the future. But was focused on his light heavyweight reign at that time. What do you think about Pereira’s explanation for his strange tweet?
