UFC Vegas 69 uprooted the world with the Erin Blanchfield versus Jessica Andrade fight. The fight ended in the second round with a win by submission for Blanchfield. Without a doubt, the loss brought down the Brazilian fighter’s spirits. Many fighters have made excuses to justify their defeat inside the Octagon. Fighters have blamed the weight cutting, poor game plan and training, and many more. However, the fans weren’t familiar with Andrade’s excuse. She blamed a wardrobe malfunction for taking her attention off the fight, resulting in defeat.

Unquestionably, the UFC world found it hard to believe the story and demanded video proof to justify the former strawweight champion’s statement. Furthermore, fighters like Sodiq Yusuff and Terrance McKinney joined the MMA fan base and teased the excuse on social media.

‘Bate Estaca’ recently told Bloody Elbow that she lost the fight because her breast slipped out of her top during the fight against Blanchfield. “This is not an excuse, but when she came for the takedown, I lost focus. Because when she moved in, she put her shoulder just under my top and my breast completely slipped out. I lost focus and forgot to counter”, said Andrade. Additionally, she clarified that it wasn’t an excuse and praised her opponent for her skills.

The fighter’s words traveled fast across the internet. Yusuff, took to Twitter and replied to Andrade’s story with one of his own. He further claimed that he deserved a rematch with Arnold Allen. 

Furthermore, ‘T Wrecks’ chimed and blamed his mouthpiece for the fights he lost.

The fans were quick to take to the comments section and reveal their thoughts. The fans found that this excuse was one of the most unique ones.

Without a doubt, fans refused to believe the Brazilian’s words. 

Additionally, some of the fans noticed that Andrade seemed off even before the fight began.

Without a doubt, the words Andrade chose to defend her defeat was indeed one of those that grabbed the attention of the entire world. Nevertheless, the fans seemingly believe that the fighters should take responsibility and move on to better themselves after a defeat.

Erin Blanchfield aspires to dominate the flyweight division

The 23-year-old fighter spoke with ‘The Schmo’ and revealed her next step. She called out the queen of the division, Valentina Shevchenko, for a shot at the title. No matter the outcome of UFC 285, Blanchfield desired to fight in July 2023.

Moreover, she revealed that she has five more fights left in the UFC. Thereby, another fight didn’t seem like a bad offer for the fighter. Nevertheless, Blanchfield’s name has begun to rise after her latest victory against Andrade. It’s just a matter of time for her to get the title shot.
