Smith earlier announced that he would make his debut in MMA in November against English singer Jack Quickenden in Manchester. Oktagon, who has made their intentions clear in becoming the biggest MMA league in the world, will promote the fight. Paul Smith mentioned that he will give his entire fight purse away as a means to help the Liverpool-based charity organization, ‘Weapons Down Gloves Up.’

Smith explained his reasons behind choosing MMA in his recent post on Instagram and said, “If you’re wondering why a 41 year old comedian would do such a thing it’s because it scares the f%@k out of me.” He also mentioned that this is one of his toughest undertakings so far.
