Mike Beltran, the most well-known MMA referee, is distinguished by his two-foot-long beard, which almost reaches his waist. He appears tough and is equipped to handle the world’s best fighters in the UFC octagon. Beltran lately posted on Twitter about his son and his journey as a single dad.

“FBF, approx 8 years ago I promised my son Mikey I’d get us into a home that would be ours. I was a single dad with full custody raising a young man on my own. I followed through and purchased “CASA BELTRÁN”. This pic brings a sense of joy and accomplishment. We love CASA BELTRÁN”

It’s astonishing to see him being a tough guy on screen while making his 8 years old promise for his son happen, reflects his warm personality. Beltran got separated from his wife Deli, and he has a son Michael, and a daughter, Alejandra, from his ex-wife.

Being one of the prominent officials in UFC, Beltran has carved his way to further heights aside from being a referee.

Mike Beltran is more than an MMA referee

Beltran has been a public figure among MMA fans and eventually ended up as an actor.

A veteran fighter who owns a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and his boxing career started in 2002, by training at Azteca Gym in Bell.

Mike Beltran took a different approach to the covid awareness campaign. The Referee turned his mustache into a mask to raise a point on the importance of wearing a mask during the pandemic.

Beltran has officiated some historic bouts in UFC Nate Diaz vs Josh Thomson, Jon Jones (UFC on Fox 7) Vs Alexander Gustafsson (UFC 238). Notably, in 2017, he was named a referee of the year. He has also been part of other big fight promotions like Strikeforce, Bellator, and King of the Cage.

While talking to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani in ESPN MMA Beltran said,

” I’ve had its been its been going for a while at least 13 years”

“I hate shaving, I just hate shaving. You know I’ve always been cut before, that just something that I just like the way it looked “

Beltran’s beard, which he calls a mustache, has been part of his personality, which has taken him from movies to social media iconic stardom. however, it’s clear that it’s just his look’s showcase dominance, not his character.

The single dad has sailed through tough tides and is enthusiastic to sail more for his family.
