Nate Diaz vs Dustin Poirier is one of the most awaited fights in the UFC. Fans were super excited about their bout to go down back in 2018. However, due to injuries, the fight couldn’t take place. After Poirer’s loss to Oliveira at UFC 269 in December 2021, rumors of a fight against Diaz emerged once again.
Both fighters took to social media to slam each other and gave fans hope of an upcoming clash. however, ever since their trash talk died, there have been no talks about a Poirier vs, Diaz fight.
From a recent tweet put out by the renowned MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, fans can get a clearer picture of why their fight hasn’t been booked yet by the UFC. Helwani wrote, “if Diaz re-signed, they would do it tomorrow. He hasn’t, so they aren’t.”

Nate Diaz is currently on his last fight according to his existing UFC contract and has not re-signed with the promotion as of now. If the superstar doesn’t choose to re-sign with the UFC, his next bout could very well be the last fight of his UFC career.
For Diaz, it makes more sense to have his last bout in the UFC against someone who will bring in a lot of pay-per-view buys so he can get a handsome check since it could be his last fight. A bout against Conor McGregor could be a perfect fit for Nate Diaz and will bring in millions of dollars for both of them.
