Conor McGregor recently broke the internet after he took to social media to show his interest in purchasing one of the biggest soccer clubs in the world, Chelsea F.C. The Russian owner of the club, Roman Abramovich, put up the club for sale and priced the lowest bid at 3 billion Euros.

Even though McGregor has a reported net worth of 200 million dollars (roughly 18.2 million Euros), he showed great enthusiasm in purchasing the football club. The Irishman received a lot of backlash and comments for his wish to purchase the club and many doubted his ability to, judging from his net worth.

McGregor took to his Twitter to share a powerful message for the nonbelievers and also revealed some shocking news about a potential purchase in a now deleted tweet.

The former UFC double champion revealed his seriousness in purchasing Chelsea Football Club. He wrote, “I do not speak in jest.”

Apart from Chelsea FC, Conor also revealed that he is ‘exploring,’ buying Glasgow Celtic football club from Irish billionaire Dermot Desmond. McGregor is also ‘exploring’ the English club, Manchester United, which is owned by the six children of the late Malcolm Glazer. ‘Glazer’ also owns the American football team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Irishman is certain that a football franchise purchase is in his destiny. He told the public to ‘make no mistake about it.’

Not only did the Irishman state his sincerity in purchasing a football club, but the fighter also sent out a message to all those who doubt him. Conor kept the message up, but later on deleted the tweet itself.

McGregor has always been the type to believe in himself and his abilities, no matter what the circumstances are. He is one of the most inspirational fighters out there and is a living example of the powers of self-belief.

The fighter gave his case in a now deleted Tweet, on leading a football team, and claimed he would be perfect for the job.

The fighter told his followers to pray that he takes over the team that they support. Looking at how far he’s come, McGregor would undoubtedly be an inspiration to young athletes.
