UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones and former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou have been the talk of the MMA community in recent times. The two faced off at the recent PFL vs. Bellator event, which sparked up the conversation about who the “Baddest Man On The Planet” title belongs to once again. This has left the interim UFC heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall sidelined once again.

The British Heavyweight won the UFC Interim heavyweight title after beating, arguably the most terrifying fighter in the UFC Heavyweight division, Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. Now that Jones is sidelined with an injury, the interim heavyweight is the top dog in the division. However, despite his impressive feats, “The Honey Badger” still isn’t getting the credits he deserves.

Despite a lot of naysayers discrediting the UFC interim heavyweight champion, Aspinall doesn’t seem bothered, as he seems to have complete belief in himself as he looks to become the best heavyweight fighter on the planet. In a video taken during his training, “The Honey Badger” talked about his ambitions to become the best in spite of people not believing in him.

“When I told people I want to be MMA fighter, people laughed. When I told people I want to go professional, people laughed. When I told people that I want to get into UFC, people like Nah, no way. And I got into UFC, I told people that, [I’m] going to be in the top 15, nah, not good enough to get to the top 15. I won the title. Now I want to win the undisputed,” said Aspinall, aiming to get the undisputed gold away from Jon Jones.

The interim champion revealed that since he had overcome all the naysayers, he believes that it would just be a matter of time before he wins the UFC undisputed heavyweight champion. Given how well-rounded he is, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the British heavyweight achieve all his goals as a fighter.

Like if you’re looked at as one of the GOATS, you know whoever wins this fight it’s almost, it’s almost like a courtesy thing to give that guy the shot. You know, give him an opportunity to win, or you win, and just absolutely cement this. Nobody can poke holes in it, nobody can say anything about it.”
