UFC President Dana White spoke to Robbie Fox out of Barstool Sports ahead of UFC 255 taking place in Vegas. The Fight card has two flyweight title fights in the feature spots, and fans are looking forward to the match-ups. Chiefly, the company boss did a deep dive into several trending topics within the fight game as it currently stands.
It seems as though fans can look forward to a busy year in 2021, as White has several enticing plans in motion. The UFC has been operating in a vacuum without fans ever since the pandemic took over the business. However, with Conor McGregor making his return at UFC 257 against Dustin Poirier, it seems as though the fan-fare will resume.
Dana White breaks massive news for UFC 257

The long-time boss of the UFC was asked to detail whether Fight Island would be the finalized destination for UFC 257 in January. Dana White was in good spirits, to say the least, and he broke out some exciting news on the event.
“That’s where I’m thinking [Fight Island]. What I’m hoping to do is Fight Island. I’m looking to make it international fight week, the new Ethiad Arena will be open and that thing was designed with us in mind. Concerts, pool parties, all kinds of cool stuff and yes, I hope to bring fans back. So imagine this, all the stuff that went on, all the things that people have seen all over the world with Fight Island, now you’ll get the opportunity to come there, be a part of it and make it International Fight Week.”
“What I would I love to do is go there and do like Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday fights. So there’s three fights in the week, pool parties, concerts, all kinds of fun stuff. Everyone gets to kick around and tour around Fight Island and Abu Dhabi. We go out there and kill it, it’ll be good to have fans on Fight Island. We can get fans from all over the world there. It’s an easy destination to get to, a fun destination to go to and we can fu**ing blow the doors of this thing.”

“I’m ready to go to a live concert”-White
Dana White explained that he was keen to be a part of the festivities alongside the fans. Moreover, this is a huge step for the UFC as they have been clear that fans wouldn’t return till things were safe. It’s clear that the UFC would once again be the first in their sphere to bring fans back with such a bang.

“I’m ready for some fights with fans, I’m ready to go to a live concert, I’m ready to have some parties and I’m gonna go to all of this sh*t. I wanna mingle with the fans again, I want the fans back. We’ve figured this whole thing up to now, we’ll figure out how to do this thing safely and pull this thing off in Abu Dhabi.”
Fans in attendance for a Conor McGregor match-up only serves to further build-up a massive event. ‘The Notorious’ will return after a year away from the action and fans now have a larger incentive to witness McGregor’s return.
