In a recent interview with FREESTYLEBENDER, Volkanovski sat down with David Adesanya. The Featherweight champion weighed in on his upcoming fight against interim champ Yair Rodriguez, at UFC 290. Deeming Yair as more dangerous than Islam, Volkanovski voiced his take on his upcoming opponent.

While speaking on a plethora of topics, David brought up Volkanovski’s wish for a rematch against Islam. Shedding some light on his plans, he admitted that if he can’t have his rematch with Islam Makhachev at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, he would definitely love to face the winner of the upcoming BMF title bout between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.
“…if Islam’s doing his thing and then we do our immediate rematch after it, then I can have three belts you know what I mean. I’d love that. Featherweight, ‘BMF’ belt, and that lightweight belt,” Volkanovski retorted back at David.

Volkanovski’s last fight hardly went how he had wanted – but he admitted that he held no grudge over Islam Makhachev, after the loss.
