PFL and Donn Davis tried to make a huge wave in the MMA pool this year by buying one of the Big 3 MMA promotions in the US. Though nowhere near as popular as the juggernaut, i.e., the UFC, Davis believes that the merger could help pose a challenge against the UFC. However, the UFC CEO, Dana White, seems to think otherwise.

Dana White seems the least bit interested in the moves Donn Davis is making, as he believes they wouldn’t really make a difference. The two have been on each other’s throats more often as of late. In fact, Dana even went as far as calling PFL and Bellator ‘Shitty’, and this led the PFL CEO to come out and make his thoughts known.

In the post-fight interview of UFC Austin, Dana White talked about the PFL buying Bellator earlier this year. He dismissed the possibility of the PFL ever being a threat to the UFC. White went on to call the two promotions “Sh*tty organizations” who have a hard time selling tickets.

The comments caught the attention of PFL CEO Donn Davis, who took to X (Twitter) to post his thoughts on the social media platform. Davis didn’t trash-talk the UFC; however, he pointed out how the PFL is slowly climbing up in terms of popularity, implying that the promotion would soon catch up in terms of quality and popularity with the UFC.

Davis posted on Twitter a quote from Gandhi stating, “FIRST THEY IGNORE YOU, THEN THEY LAUGH AT YOU, THEN THEY FIGHT YOU, THEN YOU WIN.” With a caption writing, “Given @danawhite comments, @PFLMMA has achieved step 2 Per Gandhi, just 1 more step to PFL becoming the co-leader in MMA.”

The back and forth between the two CEOs of the different promotions sure entertained the fans. Donn Davis seems to believe that the decision to buy Bellator will let them compete against the top MMA promotion in the world.

Despite Dana White’s mockery of the promotion, PFL CEO Donn Davis believes that the merger has changed the landscape of MMA overnight. He believes that now that they’ve merged two number-two promotions in the country, they have enough high-level athletes to compete against the UFC roster.

Despite the merger, they believe that the two promotions will operate separately, unlike Strikeforce completely folding into the UFC banner. The promotion projects their worth to go up by billions in the coming years.
