Petr Yan Appears to Disagree as Conor McGregor Stamps Himself the Best Boxer in the UFC, Fans React

Conor McGregor is all set to return to the Octagon in 2024 and will likely face Michael Chandler on his return. As he continues to wait for a return date, the former double champ took time from training and attended IBA Champion’s Night in Dubai. While many superstars attended the event, McGregor took a particular liking for his UFC colleague and bantamweight star Petr Yan. 

The two UFC stars first squared up for an intense stare-down inside the ring. After that, he crowned himself the best boxer in the UFC before Yan during an interview. Combat Talk shared the video on Instagram, which has gathered a lot of mixed reactions from the fans. 

Fans go wild as Conor McGregor claims himself to be the best boxer in the UFC

Is Conor McGregor truly a better boxer than Petr Yan? In a recent interview posted on Instagram, McGregor claims he is the best boxer in the UFC. However, “No Mercy” also has a strong case of taking the title of the best boxer as well. Hailing from Russia, Yan has an impressive record of 16-5-0 in the UFC. Out of these 16 fights, Yan has won 7 contests via knockout. “No Mercy” is known to have one of the best striking games in the division. 

Looking closely at the video, we realize that McGregor is in a jolly and casual mood as he answers the question. He even praised Yan for his boxing skills and termed him “phenomenal boxer“ saying he was “as good” as ‘The Notorious’ himself.

Under the short clip, fans shared their opinion regarding the comments made by the former champ. Let us take a look at some comments below.

One user felt McGregor gave adequate respect to Yan and commented:

As we go through the comments, we realize there is a mixed opinion among the fans. While many believe Yan to be a better boxer, McGregor fans believe he is the best.  “The Notorious” is ready to make a comeback in the Octagon in 2024 and will fight Michael Chandler on his return. But when will the fight happen? 

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler at UFC 300? 

As fans eagerly wait for the comeback of the ” The Notorious” one, there is a possibility that the fight might happen at UFC 300. However, there is no official announcement yet. Fans believe McGregor will headline the mega event.

The much-awaited comeback was initially expected for 2023. However, things did not materialize for many reasons. With McGregor returning to full fitness, it seems all he needs is a date for the dance with Chandler.
