Conor McGregor may have lost his last few fights. However, his achievements in the MMA business cannot be sidelined. While the fighter is aiming for a beautiful return to the octagon, many people feel he might not be able to fight the same. Especially after the leg injury, he sustained at UFC 264. But Joe Rogan has always held McGregor in high regard.

In an episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, Rogan defended McGregor. As per the UFC commentator, many people had been criticizing the Irish fighter after his last Dustin Poirier fight.

Rogan said, “I did not enjoy the way people who are not MMA experts were talking about the conclusion of that fight. And they were saying that ‘Conor is old, Conor’s done. He doesn’t have the anger anymore or the drive to become a champ anymore.”

“Horsesh*t! You people don’t know anything about MMA.”

The famous podcaster pointed out several of McGregor’s strengths in the octagon as well as his achievements. He mentioned McGregor has competed in three different weight classes and that spectators rarely get to see such ‘creativity’. Thus, Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon will surely keep fans on their toes. After all, everyone wants to see how he will perform after his leg surgery and a long absence from the ring.

Rogan has faced criticism in the past. However, many fans were not happy when he interviewed McGregor post his fight with Poirier. ‘The Notorious’ was in pain from his broken leg and hence, people felt Rogan shouldn’t have interviewed the fighter. However, on his podcast, Rogan revealed it was McGregor who called him over to conduct the interview.

Rogan has been a part of the UFC for a long time. He calls fights for US-based PPV events. Hence, the promotion has planned UFC 273 to take place in April, in Florida. Hence, fans expect him to commentate on those fights. The event will witness several famous fighters clashing to pocket another win.
