Everyone and their grandma know that Joe Rogan is a health nut. The JRE podcast host, of course, is well-known for his love for working out, eating clean, cold plunges, consuming nootropics, and whatever else new health fad comes up and catches his eye. You don’t get many 58-year-olds who look like Rogan and that is down to the UFC commentator treating his body like a temple. In fact, on a recent podcast episode with Ron White, the Texas resident even revealed that he had quit alcohol since he felt he was poisoning his body doing so. Unsurprisingly, health is one of the topics he is most interested in. Another thing we know about Rogan is that he distrusts the healthcare industry.

A great example of this came when healthcare entrepreneur and the founder of ’10X Health’, Gary Brecka appeared on episode #2304 of the JRE podcast. The duo started off talking about “the wins” of the Trump administration, and Brecka told Rogan about how through an Executive Order, Health and Human Services under Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was ordered to commission studies on the “genesis of chronic disease because nobody’s talking about it. The National Institute of Health or National Library of Medicine, or in our you know, public health policy, nobody’s talking about what’s causing this pain.”

And Rogan, who isn’t a fan of public health institutions like the ones Brecka mentioned either, immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was all because these institutions were being paid off by the soda and other diabetes-causing industries. “It’s so crazy it is American Heart Association gets money from Coca-Cola and Pepsi,” Rogan mused.

“There’s a business that relies on people being so disgusting that they get type 2 diabetes. So bad with their diet just eating pie and drinking soda till their body just starts to cave in. But that’s worth how much a year?” the former Fear Factor host asked.

“$110 billion. That’s type two diabetes,” Brecka replied. “That’s not a lot of money. It’s not like that would change anybody’s opinions on things,” Rogan joked, implying that the diabetes treatment industry was also in cahoots with the public health institutions and the other corporate players to downplay the harmful effects of certain products.

“Well, I mean a lot of people could live on that. There’s a lot of people I know that could live on that,” Brecka pointed out. “Isn’t that funny a lot of people could live on what’s killing other people. Isn’t that funny? Like a lot of people are buying yachts on what is killing people,” Rogan agreed.

“Yeah, so the interesting thing is, you know, look at our food stamp program, which is, you know, the SNAP program. It’s one of the biggest subsidies that we have in the government– $120 billion a year, $10 billion of that is going to subsidize sodas,” the medical professional said.

However, what really alarmed Brecka was another, much more sinister and more unavoidable condition than Diabetes that is ruining the American youth’s well-being wholesale.

Joe Rogan and Gary Brecka are alarmed at the isolation crisis facing young people

According to Gary Brecka, the most important and severe health condition facing America today is a mental health pandemic, caused by isolation. The rise of smartphones has meant that Americans, especially young people, are increasingly socializing less and less in person, which according to Brecka, is leading to conditions like depression skyrocketing among young people.

“As soon as you create isolation, you dramatically reduce, if not half, the life expectancy,” Brecka declared to a wide-eyed Rogan. “Now, later in life, we would call this ‘broken heart syndrome,’ ‘caregiver syndrome,’ and these were actually very valid syndromes… I think we actually have a chronic lack of mental fitness… if you look at the skyrocketing rates of these conditions, and how they are creeping into younger and younger and younger generations, you got 9-year-olds being treated for depression now.”

The only solution according to the 10X Health founder, was to change drastically the socialization habits of young people. Moreover, it is necessary to encourage them to go out into the real world and make friends there. But it actually gets worse? 57% of Americans admitted to being addicted to their smartphone in a recent survey by Review.org, which includes adults.

While the issue may be especially acute among young people, adults aren’t too far behind as far as their screen time is concerned. What do you think about Joe Rogan and Gary Brecka’s thoughts on the healthcare industry?
