Metaverse is proving a costly affair for Mark Zuckerberg. The tech mogul suffered an enormous dent in his pocket when the company released its financial report earlier this year. While he is basking in the success of his recent app, ‘Threads’, his lofty ambitions with Meta are shaking investors’ trust. Billed as the Twitter killer, Threads already has 100 million active users. Despite the Meta CEO’s best efforts to erase those records from people’s memories, his rival, Elon Musk, picked up on these and had a peculiar explanation for the revenue Meta is stacking up.

As reported by Meta, its Reality Labs division, published a $4.28 billion operating loss in the fourth quarter last year. Notably, Reality Labs is the division where the company’s VR tech and projects are conceptualized. However, the division had a tough last year as it only reported losses in each quarter last year. Thus, its losses added up to $13.72 billion in 2022. Not an ideal number when Zuckerberg is in an all-out war with the ‘Chief Twit’. This has afforded Musk another opportunity to have a jibe at his future opponent in a cage.

The 52-year-old turned to his Twitter handle as he replied to a tweet that pointed out the recent leakage of money by Meta. Further, another attached comment reported how Facebook was reduced to a misinformation-spreading machine. The Tesla CEO, in response, mentioned Facebook had a special mechanism to rack up dollar bills- censorship.

The business magnate wrote, “Censorship pays them well”.

The noted investor was taking shots by referring to the pro-growth choices Zuckerberg has made and censored anti-government posts in markets where the company has a sizeable user base. One such prominent example was how the company caved into the government’s demands in Vietnam ahead of the elections in 2021.

The tussle between two self-proclaimed champions of free speech has gone beyond the banter and both are hyping each other to exchange blows in a cage. UFC President Dana White is hotly pursuing the billionaire super fight. Also, he has a clear idea of whether the two are merely seizing each other or are serious about the business.

Recently, the UFC lynchpin at the Power Slap 3 presser responded to the curious question of whether the fight was real. He said, “It’s very real.”

The Space X CEO has already employed the services of UFC veteran Georges St-Pierre to negate the BJJ skills of ‘Zuck’. Rumors have that White is targeting a UFC 300 card for the clash between two tech giants. But there appear no concrete details to rely upon.
