Former middleweight title challenger and fighter Paulo Costa recently lost his second bout in a row in UFC 302 to former champ Sean ͏Strickland. This was Costa’s fourth defeat in the last five fights he had. Six years have passed since his KO, and he is determined to change his fate. This came as a blow to “Borrachinha,” and he decided to upload a video on social media addressing his loss.
He agreed with what Joe Rogan and Dana White apparently said and addressed the same in his video as well. Let’s see what vows he took for future fights!

During the post-fight presser, Strickland even criticized his opponent for “running” all through their co-main bout, and now Costa has retaliated. The 33-year-old promised to return to his old and classic form of fighting, which is barnstorming. He said all of this in a now-deleted video on X, which got reuploaded on Instagram by fan pages.

Costa said, “I won one and lost two. But let me tell you something: I agree with Dana (White) and Joe Rogan, and I will do that; I will bring back the Paulo that takes heads off to finish the fight.” He also mentioned that he is not a counterattack guy and that he moves better in the forward stance. He agreed saying, “I need to deliver.” He said that he has the power and needs to deliver it. Costa declared, “I won’t give a f*ck. F*ck points or conserving energy or f*ck anything about that.”

Costa, who has a record of 14-4, has lost two fights against Strickland and Robert Whittaker. Now the Brazilian fighter is promising to come back stronger. On the other hand, Dana White was not happy with the decision of Tireli, who almost tipped the fight in Costa’s favor.
Dana White gives his verdict on the split decision
The UFC CEO was shocked that Tirelli scored the UFC 302 co-main event in favor of Paulo Costa, who ultimately lost via split decision. Strickland won with scores of 46-49, 50-45, and 49-46. However, the champ was not happy with the judging, and even White was confused. During the post-fight press conference, the UFC CEO was asked about his opinion on the judgment and the error. He said, “I think that was insane. That guy should never refute a big fight again. They should kick him back down to the minor leagues and let him work on his judging.”

These minute errors by the judges have previously ruined matches as well, but this time even Joe Rogan was concerned and addressed this problem. During his conversation with Mark Greaney on JRE #1942, he spoke about this. Rogan said, “Maybe we should crowdsource the scoring instead of having these people who are professional judges. Because some of them, they get it so wrong.”
The podcast was one year ago, but the problem seems to persist even now. Will Dana White make any changes regarding this? Will Paulo Costa return to his classic form of fighting? What do you think?
