Conor McGregor has been criticized for having a short gas tank. Many feel that he goes hard in the earlier rounds and shoots his shot, so to speak. However, this leaves him depleted for the later rounds, especially as he advances in age, according to critics.

This, of course, wouldn’t do for McGregor. The Irishman thus decided that he would work with a team of sports scientists and doctors to come up with an effective, comprehensive plan, including workouts, nutrition, and supplementation to increase his stamina. According to his nutritionist, Tristin Kennedy, McGregor wanted to share this with the public so that they could benefit from it, which he explained during a recent chat with Noah Lack on ES Fancast.

Kennedy explained to Lack that the program is used by McGregor for his fight camps and has yielded great results. He said that this led them to release it to the public so that they could learn about the various protocols and information in it. FAST has a mobile app that anyone can download to track their workout and progress.

“The FAST program is a structured, I suppose, fitness program and regime that we use in camp when we’re fighting. Our team uses [it] very very diligently and with great success. So I guess the idea behind McGregor FAST was, you know, to release these protocols, these systems, and education.”

He added that it was chock full of educational material, including nutrition and recipes. The aim was to give people a program they could use that actually works.

“Because there’s a lot of nutritional education on there, recipes, everything like that. I think the idea was to kind of get this out to the public domain so people could, like, you know, benefit from it, and use it, and be a part of this regime that, like, you know, works, man, that works. It really works,” he added. And the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. And we may see the pudding rather soon, as the coast seems clear for McGregor’s return.

USADA and UFC part ways due to McGregor?

USADA recently announced in an official statement from its CEO, Travis Tygart, that the anti-doping body and the UFC have decided to part ways starting in January 2024. In that statement, USADA questioned the UFC’s motive for doing so. It singled out Conor McGregor and felt that the promotion wanted to play favorites with its most popular star. They want to exempt him from the six-month rule, which USADA publicly shot down. All UFC fighters are required to enter the USADA testing pool six months before being eligible to fight.

Many feel the reason McGregor couldn’t be booked for December as originally planned by the UFC (and publicly announced by ‘Notorious’) is because he had not entered the testing pool in time. McGregor entered the pool on October 8, which, according to USADA rules, means he cannot fight before April next year. However, with USADA (and consequently the six-month rule) out of the picture, he is eligible to fight even before April. The exact timeline for his return will only be confirmed after an announcement from the UFC and Dana White.
