Paige VanZant might be a heartthrob in the fighting world, but her skills in an arena are quite intimidating. After taking her leave from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, VanZant stepped into the realm of fighting with bare-knuckles at BKFC. No doubt, the former UFC star impressed the fighting community with her bare-knuckle fights, as well. But did you catch her on the 28th of June, 2024?
Yep! That was the date when she debuted at Dana White’s Power Slap. Needless to say, she bagged the victory bonus with thunderous slaps. But do you know what she did with her paycheck? If you don’t, then you’ve come to the right place.
VanZant earned a victory bonus of $2,000 on top of her base salary at Power Slap 8. But she decided to spend the entirety of her paycheck at the UFC CEO’s after-party. In a video footage shared by the organization on 15th July on their YouTube channel, ‘12 Gauge’ confessed, “I am so excited I’m gonna go gamble my whole paycheck. I have a feeling that Dana White after party is going to be very, very fun.”

VanZant participated in Power Slap and rose victorious over Christine Volmarans in her debut via unanimous decision. ‘12 Gauge’ began by stupefying her opponent in the first round. The second round saw Volmaranas dropping down on her knee after eating up VanZant’s slap. But it was the third hit that sent Volmaranas to the ground. Without a doubt, the former mixed martial artist’s slaps left the entire fighting community flabbergasted.

Of course, VanZant wasn’t the only one who made hefty bets at White’s after-parties. Previously, at the Power Slap 6 after-party, Charles Barkley got himself $600,000 in just one night! PowerSlap is quite infamous for the after-parties. But that didn’t make White’s venture immune to netizen’s harsh remarks. But did you know that even Joe Rogan was not completely in support of the venture? Let’s see what message he had for VanZant for debuting at Power Slap.

Paige VanZant was warned by Joe Rogan
Before VanZant participated in the slap-fighting championship, the beloved UFC color commentator was compelled to send forth a couple of words to warn the former UFC contestant. On the set of JRE, Rogan said, “Don’t do it, Paige. Unless she makes a deal where [she says] ‘I get to slap first.’ Can you do that? Can you say ‘I’ll fight you, but I get to slap first?”
Getting slapped first indeed played a vital role in determining the victor in many cases. Sometimes, all it takes is just one slap to send one’s opponent to the shadow realm. However, VanZant seemed to pay no heed to the podcaster’s advice and went on to compete in Power Slap.

But you know, Rogan couldn’t stay back from watching the PowerSlap fights. In a previous episode of the JRE, the podcaster said, “Like you have seen slap fighting. They get slapped unconscious. Just a slap. They are ready for it. They are like professional slappers. I watch those f…ng clips. I am one of those idiots.”
